Author Guidelines
When submitting articles to the journal, international ethical guidelines developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE, http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines) for scientific publications, peer-reviewed journals from Elsevier publisher (http://health.elsevier.ru/about/news/?id=990) should be followed; they can be found on the journal site (http://mchsros.elpub.ru/jour; http://arcerm.ru/mediko-biologi.html).
1. Authors should send a printed copy of the article, signed and dated on the title page by all authors, and an electronic version of the article to the journal's e-mail address. Authors’ information should indicate the names of the authors in full, academic titles and degrees, positions held, place of work with the postal address of the institution.
2. Articles must comply with State Standards # 7.89-2005 ‘Author’s and publisher’s textual originals‘ and # 7.0.7-2009 ‘Articles in journals and collections‘. Diagnoses of diseases and behavioral disorders should be correlated with ICD-10. Units should be provided by State Standard # 8.471-2002 ‘State system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements. Units of quantities‘.
3. The text of the article is typed in Arial 10, one and a half space. The fields on each side are 3 cm. The volume of editorials and reviews should not exceed 15 pages, experimental and studies – 10 pages. This includes text, illustrations (figures, tables), a list of references and an English-language section. Parallel texts presented in Russian and English are accepted. In this case, the article will be printed in Russian and English.
4. Article design:
- initials and names of authors;
- title of the article (low-case), the institution and its address (for each of the authors;
- abstract and keywords related to the International Medical Subject Header (MeSH), see Russian version on the website of Central Scientific Medical Library (http://www.scsml.rssi.ru/);
- brief introduction;
- material and methods;
- results and discussion;
- conclusion;
- possible conflicts of interest able to affect results and their interpretation; financial sources (grants, government programs, projects etc.), acknowledgements;
- references.
5. Abstract not less than 250 characters is submitted in Russian and in English with the following sections: Relevance (why it is needed); Intention (what should be done); Methodology (what has been done, study material); Results and Discussion (possible links to previous studies); Conclusion (what should be implemented to the practical science).
6. Along with fundamental publications, references should include science publications over 5–10 years in alphabetic order [articles, meeting proceedings, dissertation abstracts (dissertation – manuscript), monographs, inventions etc., educational publications are not considered as scientific ones] and comply with State Standard # ‘Bibliographic reference...'. For articles (books), regardless of the number of authors, the bibliographic record is given from the title, which contains, as a rule, the names and initials of all authors. Points and dashes in the record are replaced by a point.

Be sure to include the place of publication (publisher, if any), year of publication, total number of pages. For individual chapters, articles, the pages of the beginning and end of the document are provided.
7. Requirements for the drawings: only black and white drawings are allowed (color ones should be agreed with the editors), the filling of the elements of the drawing is oblique, cross-sectional, dashed; valid file formats are TIFF, JPG, PDF; resolution at least 300 dpi; the width of the picture ≤ 150 mm, the height of the picture ≤ 130 mm, the key to the picture should be easily readable, the font should be at least 8–9 point size.
8. English section:
- title of an article;
- English name of the institution according to the institution charter;
- information about the authors - transliterated first names, patronymics and surnames, academic titles and degrees, position, institution, its address;
- abstract with respective sections and keywords;
- transliterated references. For transliteration, the site (http://translit.net) should be used, BSI transliteration format. After the transliterated Russian publication title, its English-language translation is indicated in square brackets. For the titles of articles and journals, official translations should be applied as presented in journals, on the websites of the scientific electronic library (http://elibrary.ru) and the leading domestic libraries.
Submitted articles are reviewed by members of the editorial board and leading experts in their fields. Reviewing is ‘double blind’. In case of the positive opinion, an article is accepted for publication.
When accepting an article for publication, the authors give the editorial board the right to place the full texts of the articles and their abstracts in the information reference bibliographic databases.
Manuscripts are not returned to the authors.
No fee for the publication of manuscripts is charged from graduate students.
